James Durcan Architecture is driven by a deep appreciation for design
and the remarkable landscapes of Aotearoa. The studio’s work is

use of natural materials, high-performance building methodologies,
and design efficiency. These values underpin every stage of a
project, supported by the latest technology to deliver thoughtful,
site-responsive solutions.
Collaboration is central to the practice. The studio works closely
with clients, consultants, and contractors to bring design ambitions
to life, ensuring the process is clear, engaging, and enjoyable for

Based in Christchurch and Queenstown, and working on projects
throughout New Zealand, James Durcan Architecture welcomes
